Ironclad Fulfillment Refund Policy

If we can’t do the work, you don’t pay.

If our automated system fails to generate and deliver your completed self-help document after payment and data completion, we will refund 100% of your fee upon request. Because Builder Dispute provides self-help document software only, this refund policy covers document generation and delivery — it does not guarantee that a builder or manufacturer will approve, settle, or repair your claim.

The refund policy covers document generation and delivery — not a builder denying a claim after we’ve delivered the work, and not a case you simply change your mind about. Before you pay, our software checks that your information is complete so your document can be built. If a builder denies a claim after we’ve delivered your dossier, that’s an outcome, not a failure to perform — and we’ll still tell you why and what to do next.

If our system fails to generate and deliver your document: Builder Dispute — 100% refund upon request. An attorney or a warranty company: you still pay for the attempt.

High Water Bill? Your Meter Might Be Wrong

Your water bill jumped and nothing changed at home? Before you pay it, find out whether the problem is a leak — or the meter.

1. First, rule out a leak

2. Know your rights in Texas

Under Texas Water Code Section 13.140 and Public Utility Commission rule 16 Texas Administrative Code Section 24.169, your water provider must test your meter when you ask. You can be there to watch the test, and they must promptly tell you the date of the test, the result, and who performed it — ask for it in writing. If the meter was tested in the last 2 years and is within standard, they may charge a fee, capped at $25 for a home. The standard for a home meter is to register between 98.5% and 101.5% of the water that actually flows through it.

3. What to do

  1. Ask for a re-read of your current meter reading, and a meter accuracy test, in writing.
  2. Send the letter below to your water company or MUD. Keep a copy.
  3. Keep paying the undisputed part of your bill. Do not close the account while you dispute it.
  4. If the provider refuses to test, or the test shows the meter over-registering and they will not adjust the bill, file a complaint with the Public Utility Commission of Texas.

4. Copy, fill in, and send this letter

[Your full name] [Your street address] [City, TX ZIP] [Your phone] · [Your email] [Date] [Water company or MUD name] [Mailing address or email] Re: Request for water meter re-read and accuracy test Service address: [Your service address] Account #: [Your account number, if known] Dear Sir or Madam: My water bills have been unusually high, and I am writing to request (1) a re-read of my meter and (2) a test of my water meter's accuracy. I request this test under Texas Water Code Section 13.140 and Public Utility Commission rule 16 Texas Administrative Code Section 24.169. Please conduct the test on the premises if possible, at a time convenient to me, and please let me know the date and time in advance so that I or my authorized representative can be present. After the test, please advise me in writing of the date of the test, the result, who performed the test, and the date the meter was removed, if applicable. Please also send me your rate order provisions governing meter tests, including any test fee and the billing adjustment policy if the meter is found to be inaccurate. Please confirm receipt of this request in writing, advise me of the undisputed amount currently due, and place the disputed high-usage charges on hold pending the test results. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, [Your full name] [Your street address] [City, TX ZIP] [Your phone] [Your email]

General information, not legal advice. Every water provider writes its own rate order, so check yours for the test fee and billing adjustment rules.
